The Bible is full of picture, and also of objects that God has chosen in order to reveal to men something of His ways. A Lampstand was a picture of the means of giving light, not only to Israel but to the whole world. The Golden Oil spoke, and speaks still, of the Spirit of God. Christ the light of the world.
